Ghostbusters 3 Script Set To Get A Rewrite After The Death Of Harold Ramis

So, so sad to see Egon Spengler pass on. What a comedic giant we all lost.
The third installment of the Ghostbusters franchise has been in active development over at Sony, and since Harold Ramis' untimely death, the fate of the project has been a little up in the air.
However, it looks like Ghostbusters III will go forward as planned with a rewrite on the script written by two scribes who used to work on The Office, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky.
The director of the sequel (to the sequel), Ivan Reitman, is set to meet with the upper echelon of Sony production to discuss the necessary changes that would have to be made to the script.
However, one studio source downplayed Harold's involvement on the film:
"He was always great to bounce something off of, and that will certainly be missed. But it won't affect the script."
Of course, Harold was going to have a cameo in the upcoming film along with the rest of the original Ghostbusters, which is the part we would have loved to see.
Rest in peace, Harold. Your brilliance as a writer, as a director, and as an actor will thoroughly be missed.
